Our Activities

Who we are
In the light of rapid and continuous financial, legislative and vocational transformations that affect culture and the arts, it is evident that the need has arisen for the scenic arts sector to address the challenge posed by new creative multimedia languages and by the rapid evolution of certain sectors such as film and television employing cutting-edge technological innovations.
The Scenographer is the first magazine with global distribution dedicated to set and costume design.  We pride ourselves on providing news, information and background on design for the entertainment industry from vocational training to the professional world. Particular attention is paid to graduates and young designers on the threshold of a career within the contemporary design landscape.

Our mission
The Scenographer's mission is twofold: to act as a hub and function as an “open laboratory” for a variety of initiatives, schemes and incentives that have vocational training as their prime objective, in order to pool the collective skills of craft practitioners and establish a fruitful link between established professionals and graduate designers; to provide production designers, costume designers, set decorators and scenic artists with the opportunity to take technical refresher courses organised in association with expert practitioners and companies providing technologies for the entertainment industry.

Integrated Marketing Communications
THE SCENOGRAPHER provides an efficient communications platform for businesses who advertise in our print and online editions,  through a tried and tested programme of diversification in promoting goods and services targeted at industry professionals worldwide. We have direct contact with film and theatre directors, production designers, art directors and costume designers throughout Europe and the USA.
THE SCENOGRAPHER
is bonus distributed at key international trade and festival events throughout the year.

THE SCENOGRAPHER organises conventions attended by industry practitioners, educators and students.
